Backup and Restore a Program on TP 270 6″
Last week, I must change the old Siemens TP 270 6″ because of its touch screen leak. You know I’ve changed this TP twice in last 4 years. I don’t know why the touch is easy to leak. Better ask to Siemens..
Anyway, in this case I don’t have any backup program of this TP. So we need a full backup program from old TP then restore to the new one.
I used WinCC Flexible 2005 but of course you can use the new version, Win CC Flexible 2008. And for communicate I used RS 232 cross connection between COM1 on PC and RS232 port on TP.
First we need to configured Communication Setting, via Project Menu >> Transfer >> Communication Setting
Set Device type to TP270 and Mode to Serial, For port I use COM 1 and baudrate 11520.
First connect the old TP, and open Backup Windows. Choose Complete Backup and choose dir to save the file click OK. It takes about 1 hour.
To Restore
Connect the new TP, open Resore Windows. Choose the back up file. Than Click OK.
