Simatic USB to DP/MPI PC Adapter – Download Driver

PC Adapter is the important tool for working with a PLC instead a PG with Simatic Step 7 Software. It is the interface to communicate with PLC. By this tool we can setup a PLC with all the module connected, transfer a program, download and upload, and also monitoring the states of IO’s, etc.

The old PC Adapter used RS232 interface. But now, many laptop have some USB ports with no serial port. So USB port is the best choice.

Servo Manager for Compax M/S, A Servo Drive by Parker

This is a servo drive – Compax M/S- made by Parker. In my work, it used for controlling step of cylinders to pour any liquid product in any targeted volume.

There are two units of Servo Parker, one is a power supply for DC source and a point for bus connection, this unit could be connected until 128 servo unit. And the other unit is servo it self.

This Servo unit connected to a computer via RS422 at the beginning. But because of the module on power supply was broken, I decided to use RS232 on the servo and use a converter RS422 to RS232. The Computer works as a PLC. Using a pascal program to control servo and also to control digital input and output via interbus connection.

This 2010 is the first time where I get the first trouble that never happen before. This servo was lost all the parameters. I don’t know why it could happen. And of course this machine can’t start and always shows an error message. Thanks God I found a software named Servo Manager, I downloaded from Parker official Website before, and I have make a backup the parameters. Then just simple action to download the parameter saved on computer to servo unit.

So Servo Manager is a must have tool for you if you have Parker servo or inverter. Before bad possibility, t will be better if you make a backup of your servo parameter.

Backup and Restore a Program on TP 270 6″

Last week, I must change the old Siemens TP 270 6″ because of its touch screen leak. You know I’ve changed this TP twice in last 4 years. I don’t know why the touch is easy to leak. Better ask to Siemens..

Anyway, in this case I don’t have any backup program of this TP. So we need a full backup program from old TP then restore to the new one.

I used WinCC Flexible 2005 but of course you can use the new version, Win CC Flexible 2008. And for communicate I used RS 232 cross connection between COM1 on PC and RS232 port on TP.

First we need to configured Communication Setting, via Project Menu >> Transfer >> Communication Setting

Set Device type to TP270 and Mode to Serial, For port I use COM 1 and baudrate 11520.

First connect the old TP, and open Backup Windows. Choose Complete Backup and choose dir to save the file click OK. It takes about 1 hour.

To Restore

Connect the new TP, open Resore Windows. Choose the back up file. Than Click OK.

Lock 3G Network on Sony Ericsson Phone

My phone, a Sony Ericsson K770. An UMTS phone, some time lost 3G network, so the phone change its network connection to 2G automatically.

We only have two option in this phone to choose ; GSM and 3G; and 3G only.

So how to lock a 3G connection and the phone always find best way to get 3G connection.

We need a My Phone Explorer application. Just find Profile menu, and you will find on the bottom. Three options for the way we connect. Just choose 3G only and then “Apply”.

Apple became the leader in create gadget. After they launch iPhone, the first revolution of full touch phone. Now they make an another portable computer close to an iPhone.

Actually this iPad tablet is not the first, because a gadget China made already make this, about ten years past. But Apple has everything to make good gadget and good in marketing because of their fanatic consumers, fanatic in apple and fanatic in high class of brand.

I see a presenter of TV Show use iPad, light, thin. Change how to make another experience of hold a paper. He can write, or view a writing or a message in one multifunction of gadget. Equipped with wifi or 3G connection is another point of this gadget.
